Free Home Energy Advice Available for Somerset Residents

Are you worried about the cost of your energy bills? Free, independent help is available for eligible households across Somerset through the Home Energy Advice Project, delivered locally by Burnham and Weston Energy CIC as part of the national LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) programme.

With around 42% of UK households running out of money each month, and many having to choose between heating and eating, this fully funded service aims to help residents reduce energy costs and make their homes warmer and more efficient.

A trained advisor can visit your home to:

  • Explain your energy bills and identify ways to save money.

  • Help if you’re struggling with energy debt or supplier issues.

  • Check you’re receiving all the benefits and financial support you’re entitled to.

  • Install free energy saving measures, including LED bulbs, draught proofing and radiator reflectors.

  • Advise on grants for insulation, replacement boilers and energy efficient appliances.

The service is completely free, independent and impartial, regardless of who supplies your energy.

You may be eligible if your household income is below £31,000 per year or you receive qualifying benefits, including Pension Credit or disability benefits.
